Ahmed Zohaib Zaidi
Bio
Ahmed received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 2016 and 2020, respectively, from the University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan. During his masters, he worked as a researcher at Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Central Punjab, Pakistan. He worked on the development of human gait phase detection system using pressure sensors and inertial measurement units and tested it on both able-bodied and disabled subjects at a local hospital. He also worked on the development of a stance control knee orthosis.
He is currently working on the design and development of new actuation strategies for robotic systems used in the field of transfemoral prosthetic sockets under MOTU++ framework. The smart prosthetic socket will be able to compensate for the volume variations of the residual limb.
Ricerca
His research is focused on the application of sensors and actuators in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. He is involved in MOTU++ which is a follow up project of MOTU – A novel paradigm of robotic transfemoral prosthetic systems, promoted by the National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL).
