Research themes
Research at The Biorobotics Institute cannot be discriminated in terms of fundamental and applied research. Clinical and industrial needs drive our research pushing forward the boundaries of knowledge and our discoveries immediately translate into inventions that can address these needs. Interdisciplinary studies rooted in both biology and engineering include the development of novel devices, novel materials and novel algorithms. The six themes presented below highlight fields of study aggregating several researchers within the Institute, but each researcher’s interest spans across different themes.
