The Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna inaugurates the 2022 / 2023 academic year and confers the Doctorate Honoris Causa in Law to alumnus and President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court Giuliano Amato. The ceremony is held on Saturday, December 17th at 10 a.m. in the Aula Magna and will be attended by Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini.
At the opening there will be greetings from Minister Anna Maria Bernini, President of the Region of Tuscany Eugenio Giani, and Mayor of Pisa Michele Conti, followed by a speech by Rector Sabina Nuti. This is the moment to take stock and, above all, to take a look at the coming months, devoting particular attention to issues such as undergraduate and postgraduate education and social mobility, increasingly interdisciplinary advanced research, the "third mission" that aims to consolidate its impact on society, and the launch of projects financed under the Pnrr (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).
At the end of Rector Sabina Nuti's speech, Dean of the Class of Social Sciences Anna Loretoni and Dean of the Class of Experimental Sciences Cesare Stefanini award certificates of the conferment of scholarships funded by private institutions (Mediobanca, Fondazione Cavallini, Bernardo Villa Gicaber, Laviosa, Il Talento all'Opera) that have enabled a significant increase in the number of honour students. This was followed by greetings from the representatives of honour students and administrative technical staff.
Constitutionalist Enzo Cheli is entrusted with the laudation of Giuliano Amato, before his lectio magistralis "I diritti umani e la loro tutela. Tra il dire e il fare". After the lectio magistralis, Rector Sabina Nuti confers Giuliano Amato the Doctorate Honoris Causa in Law and declares the academic year 2022 / 2023 open.
The ceremony is broadcast live on the Sant'Anna School's YouTube channel on this LINK.
