The 80 students who will participate in “STEM, le ragazze si mettono in gioco” for the 2025 edition have been announced: all girls of merit, daughters of parents without a university degree, who are attending the fourth year of upper secondary school.

The Sant'Anna School orientation program was announced during the National Week of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, promoted by the Ministry of University and Research, and on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated on February 11. The Sant'Anna School aims to introduce participants to study and career opportunities in the scientific and technological sectors.

Starting in the next few weeks, the 80 participants in the project will take part in online meetings and discussions with the students of the School to talk about the opportunities offered by university courses. The participants will also be put in touch with the CISIA consortium for the preparation and simulation of university entrance tests.

The highlight of the program will take place in July, when the 80 selected students will be guests of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies for a 4-day residential internship in Pisa. During this event, they will have an immersive experience of university life, with visits to the campus and interactions with students, creating an environment of peer-to-peer discussion. Participation in this event is free of charge; the School will cover the costs of food, accommodation and travel for all participants. The project is funded for some activities by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and also benefits from the financial contribution of the “Il Talento all'Opera” Foundation and of PagoPA.

“'STEM, le ragazze si mettono in gioco' is an initiative strongly supported by the Sant'Anna School, now in its fifth edition. Our goal is to guide girls towards conscious choices, free from stereotypes, showing them the many opportunities offered by study paths and careers in the technical-scientific field. We also want to promote social mobility, by directing our program to girls with parents who did not graduate from university”, say Marco Fontana and Veronica Iacovacci, teachers at the Sant'Anna High School and project managers.
