The Institute of Mechanical Intelligence (IIM) was established in May 2021 bringing together the two research groups of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna working on Perceptual Robotics (PERCRO) and Advanced Optical Sensors, with the aim of developing hardware and software components of artificial systems and for studying their interactions with humans.
