WOUND

The project aims to develop new materials, to be used as patches, as well as low-intensity pulsed ultrasonic (‘LIPUS’ technology) and pulsed electromagnetic (‘PEMF’ technology) stimulation systems to accelerate the healing process of skin lesions (e.g. pressure sores). This will be achieved by the research group of the Regenerative Technologies Lab, which has experience in the field of biophysical stimulation, biomaterials and regenerative medicine, and Auxilium Vitae Volterra, a multi-specialist clinical rehabilitation centre. These partners will collaborate with Inail (both the Prosthesis Centre in Vigorso di Budrio and the Motor Rehabilitation Centre in Volterra) to pursue this ambitious project that aims both to create new basic science and to explore the clinical application of the above-mentioned technologies.
