HandEval
The HANDeVAL project aims to develop an ecosystem of devices capable of performing quantitative measurements to assess the functional recovery of the hand and wrist following trauma, surgery or a neurological disorder (e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome). In particular, the project will develop robotic devices and virtual reality tools for monitoring kinematic and dynamic parameters, grasping and lifting functions of objects, and sensory capacities, with the aim of creating an extensive dataset of measurements on healthy subjects and trauma patients, capable of providing therapists with quantitative tools to plan and customise rehabilitation therapy. The project will be carried out in collaboration between the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and the Motor Rehabilitation Centre of Volterra - Inail.
